The success story of Nickelodeon
Nickelodeon is now one of the cable channels most successful in the U.S., and could be the most watched network children in history. It has also been an empire enlargened international cable with regional versions operating in Europe, Middle East, Russia and parts of Asia. But despite its current level of success inconceivable, "Nick" as it is affectionately called, is a fairly new TV network and its turbulent history is rather short.
The network was given the name "Nickelodeon" when you first bought Viacom in 1981. Up until then had been known as pinwheel, whose implementation was continued from 1977 to 1981. From children's programs were fewer and lower quality at the time, and since there were not many spectators during school hours, windlass lasted only six hours a day. When Viacom took over the network, which extended the time allowed 6 hours to 12 hours, from 8:00 to 20:00, but leaving Twirl the old staff in their positions.
In 1984 Nick was in last place among cable stations for ratings, and had lost $ 40 million. The President of MTV Networks, a division of Viacom, MTV not only worked but also on other networks such as Nickelodeon, fired the staff and began a process of rebranding the network, with the help of some of the masterminds behind the emergence of MTV for success. We have created a new "splat" logo infamy which persists to this day, new jingles; new promotional clips for identification, and new content created with the help of new writers, farmers, and entertainers. The network was given a total makeover and a period of six months was No. 1 among cable networks.
Luckily for us fans, luck Nickelodeon turned. Nickelodeon offers some of the most enriching children's content there, both very entertaining and subtly educational. Its content always brings joy my children, but also teaches them something of value every time they see. Because I'm grateful.
