Sponge Bob movie?

I remember the SpongeBob movie full length? Does anyone know why the characters introduced in the film, Why is not that new permanent characters the next season? that were never shown in an episode later. I would think they would be added to the cast, as when the Rugrats movie came out, dill and sister and mother of Chuckie new stage with his dog fifi were introduced in the film and became a permanent character.

Since SpongeBob is supposed to be silly. There is a continuous show, an episode and the next is independent of each other. That's what makes is so great to see.
