Why not let children see some "SpongeBob SquarePants"?

I am a child, not an adult. (14 years) and I'm surprised many parents like their kids watching SpongeBob. I am a fan of SpongeBob, I always watch with the kids when I'm babysitting and we love it. I see nothing wrong it, all I can think is that parents think that education or have not dumb or something a humor along the lines of that. I remember when I was about 8 was not aloud see for a very short time, because my mom boyfriend (My parents separated and my mom had a boyfriend) told my mother about this commercial (for what it really was not an episode), where SpongeBob slapped a girl in the ass, and he said he thought it might be a bad influence because of this. But about two weeks of not seeing Bob Sponge my mother saw a couple of episodes with me and saw no harm to him. But this is probably getting too long so I'll stop writing … PLEASE ANSWER! : -]

This is because traditionally, Nickelodeon cartoons that are marketed for children have a background of subtle adult humor embedded them. Rocco's Modern Life is a classic example of this. Sponge Bob is not as obvious as Rocco's Modern life, but if you remember thinking about this in 10 years, go back and see some episodes again, you'll see what I mean. That said, I do not think it matters enough to prevent children from watching the show.
